Criminal Intent”, “Animal Control” and other tips

Crime thrillers, comedies and the spin-off of the box office hit “The Batman”: This is probably the best way to summarize the new TV series in the week from September 16 to 22.

Crime thrillers, comedies and the spin-off of the box office hit “The Batman”: This is probably the best way to summarize the new TV series in the week from September 16 to 22.

This week, Das Erste is focusing on exciting entertainment: The mystery series “Wäldern” starts on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. Part 2 is already on Friday, but not until 10:20 p.m. On Thursday, “Der Irland-Krimi” with Désirée Nosbusch returns to prime time. ARD has produced two new films, and the station will broadcast the second on September 29th.

Season 3 of “Detective Grace” on ZDF

ZDF will have viewers waiting until Sunday for fresh crime fare from Great Britain: The third season of “Detective Grace” begins with the feature-length episode “You shall not die” at 10:15 p.m. On Saturday, NDR will be luring viewers in front of their screens late in the evening with the Finnish-German series “Seconds – In the Ruins of the Disaster”. There will be three episodes in a row from 11:00 p.m.

Binge-watching fans will get their money’s worth in Arte’s program: the complete six-part third season of the British comedy “Mum” will be shown there on Thursday from 9:45 p.m. On Friday at 8:15 p.m., the crime thriller “What We Fear” from the series “Katharina Tempel” will celebrate its TV premiere on the cultural channel.

The eleventh season of the US comedy “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” from 2016 will also be broadcast on German free TV for the first time: however, it will only be shown in Comedy Central’s nighttime program. One episode will be shown at midnight on Tuesdays to Saturdays.

These are the highlights in pay TV

Sky Atlantic has a series treat in store for pay TV starting Friday at 8:15 p.m.: “The Penguin” is a spin-off of the blockbuster “The Batman” with Colin Farrell in charge. It will be broadcast in the next few weeks. At the same time, it will be released on Sky Q and WOW. The latter also applies to the Canadian crime series “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent”: In the case of this series, viewers can look forward to two episodes per week starting Tuesday – at 8:15 p.m. on 13th Street or via streaming.

Things are getting fun at Warner TV Comedy with the new US series “Animal Control”, in which Joel McHale plays the roles: two episodes every Monday from 8:15 p.m. ensure a good mood. In the USA, a second season was already broadcast on the FOX network last spring.
