On Tuesday, Rucker appeared in court and pleaded no contest to a single charge of simple possession. The other two charges were dropped as part of a plea agreement, The Tennessean reports.

The Williamson County District Attorney’s Office reportedly cited Rucker’s “good character” in recommending that the remaining charges be dropped.

Rucker rose to fame as the frontman of Hootie & the Blowfish. According to the band’s website, they met in the late 1980s while studying at the University of South Carolina at Columbia. Their biggest hits include “Let Her Cry,” “Only Wanna Be With You,” and “Hold My Hand.”

Rucker has also released several country albums and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2012.
