Start your professional life with the 26th SVZ Apprenticeship Day

More than 100 apprenticeships and 1000 visitors expected in one place. On September 12th, interested parties were able to find out more about job opportunities in the region in the sports and congress hall in Schwerin. 65 companies and associations presented themselves on site and were available to answer questions from young professionals at the 26th SVZ apprenticeship day.

The fair offers orientation and paves career paths

The job fair was opened by Michael Seidel, the publishing group’s head of communications: “Companies complain about school leavers’ lack of training maturity and a certain lack of orientation when it comes to choosing a career. In this respect, a fair like this helps people to gain knowledge and information and to get advice in order to make the right career choice.”

Representatives from all sectors were there. From the health sector, for example, Juliane Wöhlke from Helios Kliniken Schwerin. “We are looking for trainees for March and April.” From nursing specialists to physiotherapists to medical technologists, everything is there.

Helios Clinic offers D-Ticket and health bonus

“As a maximum care facility, we can offer surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry, children’s clinics and pediatrics.” You don’t even have to leave the hospital for almost the entire training.” Only the part of the nursing training in the outpatient nursing service and the nursing home has to be completed outside the clinic.

In addition, the entire training plan is set for the duration of the training right at the start of the training. Health bonus, job ticket or Germany ticket, holiday and shift allowances, 29 days’ vacation, and around 1,400 euros gross in the first year of training are other offers from Helios Kliniken that Wöhlke lists.

Charlotte and Henry are training at Palmberg

The furniture manufacturer Palmberg traveled from Schönberg with its stand. Charlotte Pottberg and Henry Sloman are training there, in their second and first year of apprenticeship. Both came into contact with the company through a voluntary internship.

“After an internship, I worked for Palmberg in a summer job,” says Henry. In the 11th grade of school, he decided to train as a wood mechanic, applied for the job and was accepted. “The training will give me the journeyman title and at the same time the university entrance qualification.”

Palmberg trainees appreciate the treatment and conditions

Charlotte became interested after her internship at Palmberg. After she received her high school diploma, she applied for a job as an industrial clerk. “I was accepted and I don’t regret it.” What she likes about the company is that you are taken seriously from the start, but you are not left alone.

Other benefits that the company offers include an in-house canteen with discounted meals, a health bonus and reimbursement of travel expenses. Henry also says: “Palmberg paid well. This is not compensation for pain and suffering, but something you honestly earn.”

Sparkasse offers training and studies

Sparkasse Mecklenburg-Schwerin, the longest-standing exhibitor, was also represented at the fair. It offers training to become a bank clerk and a dual bachelor’s degree in business administration.

“For the training you need at least a secondary school diploma, for the university degree you need at least a high school diploma,” explains training manager Ulrike Schröder. Applicants from the Ludwigslust-Parchim region are particularly sought after. “In Schwerin we get enough applications the quickest. In the other locations, such as Hagenow, Boizenburg and Parchim, it is a little more difficult.”
