(Kun). In the Tennis Hessen League, the women’s 50s of the Ober-Mörler Tennis Club have to move to the Association League after their 2:4 defeat at TC Blau-Weiß Bad Soden on the last match day. TC Bad Vilbel, on the other hand, has two reasons to celebrate: the men’s 40s and men’s 55s can celebrate winning the Hessen Championship. While the men’s 55s were already confirmed as Hessen champions before the last match day, the men’s 40s secured their place with a 4:

2 victory in Griesheim and was supported by the blunder of the Kelkheimer TEV in the long-distance duel in Baunatal (1:5).

Women 50 (4-person), Group 33, TC Blau-Weiß Bad Soden – Ober-Mörler TC 4:2: After only one year in Hesse’s tennis elite, the OMTC women’s 50s have to move to the association league. With two wins, one draw, two extremely unfortunate 2:4 defeats and only two really clear 1:5 defeats, the team led by team captain Eva Breitenfelder was by no means cannon fodder.

Against Bad Soden, the guests had strengthened their team with Kristina Pauel and Patiricia Wolf, who normally serve for the OMTC women’s 40s. In a high-class match, Pauel lost to the Spaniard in the top position by a very narrow and unlucky margin of 6:7 and 6:7. In second position, Cordula Riebe had to accept a clear two-set defeat despite strong resistance. Dorthe Wiedenhöft-Nass also had a hard-fought duel with her opponent, which the hosts’ number three won in the match tiebreak. In fourth position, Patricia Wolf was able to prevail in two close sets and score the first match point for the visitors.

“With two wins in the doubles and a draw at the end, the chances of staying in the league would have been there again,” Breitenfelder lamented the defeat of the OMTC duo Riebe/Wiedenhöft-Nass, who found no way to beat the strong Bad Soden duo Solano/Lade.

In shorthand: Singles: Mara Solano – Kristina Pauel 7:6, 7:6; Sabine Mühlstädt – Cordula Riebe 6:3, 6:3; Walburga Walf – Dorthe Wiedenhöft-Nass 7:6, 2:6, 10:4; Meike Twietmeyer – Patricia Wolf 6:7, 4:6. – Doubles: Mühlstädt/Twietmeyer – Pauel/Wolf 6:4, 3:6, 7:10; Solano/Lade – Riebe/Wiedenhöft-Nass 6:1, 6:0.

Men 40 (4-person), Group 73, TuS Griesheim – TC Bad Vilbel 2:4 : Dennis Linden and Johannes Freise had little trouble with their Griesheim opponents in the singles and each celebrated clear two-set victories. At the top position, TCBV team captain Bastian Hehner prevailed in the match tiebreak after a two-and-a-half hour rain break. There was nothing for Thomas Pock, who had traveled from his adopted home of Düsseldorf for the last match day. Hehner and Linden scored the decisive point for the Hesse championship in the first doubles.

In shorthand: Singles: Jörg Hosenseidl – Bastian Hehner 6:3, 5:7, 8:10; Jens Simon – Dennis Linden 2:6, 0:6; Bastian Lindenstruth – Thomas Pock 6:2, 6:1; Tracey Boyd – Johannes Freise 2:6, 2:6. – Doubles: Hosenseidl/Ochmann – Hehner/Linden 0:6, 1:6; Lindenstruth/Boyd – Pock/Freise 6:2, 6:3.

Men 55 (6-a-side), Group 94, MSG Bad Camberg/Erbach – TC Bad Vilbel 5:4: Roland Ramer won his match in the top position in straight sets. Dirk Buss, on the other hand, won without a fight, while Sven Kaiser’s match went to Bad Vilbel’s number four at 5:2 in the first set. Frank Weis and Nils Riedel had to fight back against their opponents, while Frank Wagner had to withdraw due to injury at 1:4 in the first set. With the score at 3:3, the doubles were not played out and went to the home team at the green table with 2:1.

In shorthand: Singles: Thomas Niehaus – Roland Ramer 1:6, 2:6; Markus Erdmann – Dirk Buss 0:1; Frank Winter – Frank Weis 6:3, 6:4; Jan Huppertsberg – Sven Kaiser 2:5; Armin Ackermann – Nils Riedel 6:7, 6:4, 10:4; Michael Schmelzer – Frank Wagner 4:1.
