United States | EB-4 visa reaches annual limit for FY 2024

United States | EB-4 visa reaches annual limit for FY 2024

The State Department announced that the annual limit on EB-4 visas for fiscal year 2024 has been reached.

Important points:

  • All visas available in the Employment-Based Fourth Preference (EB-4) category for FY 2024 have been issued.
  • The Immigration and Nationality Act limits the number of EB-4 visas issued annually to 7.1% of the worldwide employment limit.
  • Embassies and consulates will not be permitted to issue EB-4 visas for the remainder of fiscal year 2024. The annual limit will reset on October 1, the beginning of fiscal year 2025, and EB-4 visa issuance may resume at that time.

Further information: EB-4 visas allow a wide range of special immigrants, including religious workers, special immigrant youth, certain U.S. government employees, certain retirees of international organizations, and certain employees of international broadcasters, to legally reside and work in the United States.
