Appeal for non-ban?: WADA to decide in the “Sinner case” by the end of September

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will decide by the end of September whether to appeal against the non-ban of world number one tennis player Jannik Sinner. The case is currently being examined.

In August, Jannik Sinner was acquitted of doping charges, first by the Italian agency and then by the bodies of the International Tennis Integrity Agency. Sinner tested positive twice in eight days in Indian Wells in March. The acquittal was upheld because Sinner’s (now fired) masseur had massaged the Italian with a spray containing clostebol to treat a minor injury.

WADA stated that it only received the dossier last week and has three weeks after receipt of the file to decide whether to pursue the case further.
