Prostitution gang uncovered, three women arrested

New Delhi [India] September 11 (ANI): Delhi Police on Wednesday busted a prostitution ring and arrested three women, including the ring’s mastermind.

Police said they received secret information about the prostitution ring thriving in the capital on September 10.

Based on the information, a raiding party was immediately assembled. A policeman was sent out as a decoy and on his instructions a raid was carried out on the house where the business was operated.

One of the accused, a 47-year-old woman, was found there along with two other women. Police said the accused was the mastermind of the scam. A case was registered and investigations are underway.

In another prostitution case, six people, including three women, were arrested in a hotel in East Delhi a few days ago. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a hotel in South Ganesh Nagar.

“Investigations revealed that the hotel owner was previously involved in such illegal activities, prompting the Delhi Municipal Corporation to close his hotel,” said DCP (East) Amrutha Guguloth.

The hotel was recently cleared. The MCD has been informed and further investigation in the case is underway, the DCP added.

Police said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITP Act). (ANI)
