Nations League: DFB team in the Netherlands – Deniz Undav in the starting eleven for the first time

Status: 10.09.2024 19:35

The DFB team is facing what is probably its toughest task in the Nations League: They will face the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Tuesday (September 10, 2024). National coach Julian Nagelsmann is also relying on Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav, who will be starting for the first time in his fourth international match.

Three days after the strong performance against Hungary (5-0), the high hopes are once again resting on Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz, who caused a sensation with their performance in Düsseldorf and, not surprisingly, are also in the starting eleven in the top match of Group 3 in the Nations League A.

Only one change in the DFB team

It was clear that there would be a change since Niclas Füllkrug had left early due to problems with his Achilles tendon. 28-year-old Deniz Undav from VfB Stuttgart will take over for him – but that is the only change.

In defence, Nagelsmann is relying on the back four from the Hungary game. The new captain Joshua Kimmich is defending on the right, David Raum on the left, and Nico Schlotterbeck and Jonathan Tah are back on the inside.

Pascal Groß and Robert Andrich, Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz will again form the double six, flanking Kai Havertz and working magic on the wings, as they did against Hungary.

The German lineup: ter Stegen – Kimmich, Tah, Schlotterbeck, Raum – Andrich, Groß – Wirtz, Havertz, Musiala – Undav. – Coach: Nagelsmann
