You can watch the debate live on ABC and stream it on ABC News Live, Disney+, NewsNation and Hulu. Local networks CBS, Fox and NBC will also broadcast the debate.

At 9 p.m. EDT, USA TODAY will simulcast the ABC News presidential debate on the USA TODAY channel, available on most smart TVs and devices.

According to ABC, David Muir and Linsey Davis will moderate the debate.

Muir is the anchor and editor-in-chief of “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir,” which ABC calls “the most-watched news program in the United States.” Muir is also co-anchor of ABC’s “20/20.”

Davis is also an ABC anchor on ABC News Live Prime and Sunday night’s World News Tonight. She is also a correspondent for other ABC programs such as World News Tonight, Good Morning America, 20/20 and Nightline.

Are there rules for ABC’s presidential debate with Trump and Kamala?

The rules are essentially the same as those used during the debate between Trump and President Joe Biden in June.

According to ABC News, candidates will stand behind lecterns, will not be allowed to give opening remarks and will not be allowed to bring notes. The network also said there will be no audience and that any written notes or topics or questions will be shared with the campaigns or candidates in advance.

“Moderators will attempt to enforce time agreements and ensure a civilized discussion,” the network noted.

What are the qualifications for tonight’s debate between Harris and Trump?

According to ABC News, here are the candidates’ qualification requirements for the debate:

  • To serve as President, the qualifications set forth in Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution must be met

  • Must have submitted a declaration of candidacy to the Federal Election Commission

  • Must appear on a sufficient number of state ballots, as certified by the Secretary of State or the appropriate election authority in each state, to obtain a majority (270) of the electoral votes in the presidential election by September 3, 2024

  • Participants must agree to the rules and format of the debate as outlined by ABC News.

  • All entrants must receive at least 15% approval in four separate national polls of registered or likely voters that meet ABC News standards.

    • Polls must be conducted using probability sampling by one of the following companies or pairs of companies: ABC News, CNN, Fox News, NBC News, The New York Times/Siena College, Quinnipiac University, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.

    • The four skills surveys must be conducted by different organizations.

    • Polls must be conducted and published between August 1, 2024, and September 3, 2024. Only publicly published polls conducted entirely within this time period will qualify.

  • October 7: This is the last day to register to vote.

  • 26 October – 2 November: Early voting is available nationwide. Earlier voting dates may be offered optionally at the district level.

  • 5 November: Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., no matter what time zone you live in. All voters still in line at 7 p.m. are allowed to cast their vote, no matter how long it takes.
