NFL odds, Vegas lines, picks, spreads, game predictions: Model high for Ravens, Buccaneers in Week 2, 2024

The only two franchises to be AFC champions in the last five years meet on Sunday in the culmination of the NFL’s Week 2 schedule. Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City host Joe Burrow and Cincinnati in a matchup that has happened twice in the last three AFC championship games. In the last eight matchups between these franchises, the team that won the game also came out on top. If you think that trend will continue, then the team you pick in your NFL money line betting should also be your choice for Week 2 NFL picks against the spread.

With a rest advantage and a postseason win, Kansas City is favored by six points in the Week 2 NFL odds over a Bengals team that surprisingly lost at home to New England in its season opener. Other games with Week 2 NFL spreads of at least six points include Ravens vs. Raiders (+9.5), Cowboys vs. Saints (+6.5) and Bears vs. Texans (-6.5). All Week 2 NFL odds are listed below, and SportsLine’s advanced computer model has all the NFL betting tips and NFL predictions you need to make the best Week 2 NFL picks now.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, has gained well over $7,000 since its launch for $100 players on A-rated NFL picks. The model enters Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season with an incredible 184-130 run on top-rated NFL picks dating back to the 2017 season. It also has a 38-22 run on A-rated NFL picks since Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season.

The model has been in the top 10 in pure NFL picks on NFLPickWatch four of the last six years and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick’em four times during that time. Anyone who has been following it ranks way up there.

Now it has turned to the latest NFL odds for Week 2 and NFL betting lines for the spread, money line and over-under, and set picks for every NFL matchup. Click here to see all the picks.

Top predictions for NFL Week 2

We can tell you that one of the model’s strongest NFL picks for Week 2 is for the Ravens (-9.5, 41.5) to score at home against the Raiders. Baltimore was literally inches away from beating the defending champion Chiefs in their own building on Super Bowl banner night because Isaiah Likely’s shoes were out of bounds. Even with two consecutive losses — and consecutive ATS losses — to the Chiefs since last year’s playoffs, the Ravens have an 11-7 ATS record in regular season games since the start of 2023, which is the third-best mark in the league.

As for the Raiders, the two biggest questions surrounding them early in the season were the two main reasons for their loss to the Chargers in Week 1, and that’s their quarterback and their running game. Gardner Minshew had two turnovers and was sacked four times, while starting quarterback Zamir White averaged just 3.4 yards per carry and lost one fumble. After limiting Mahomes to as many interceptions as touchdowns and limiting the Chiefs’ running game to just 3.6 yards per carry, the Ravens should have no trouble containing Vegas’ offense. According to SportsLine’s model, Baltimore (-9.5) is covering nearly 60% of the time. See which other teams to pick here.

Another NFL prediction for Week 2: The Buccaneers (+7, 51) cover on the road against the Lions. Detroit needed overtime in Week 1 to beat a completely depleted Rams team that lost Puka Nacua in the first half and three offensive linemen over the course of the game. Even with a weaker offense, the Rams were able to move the ball at will, as Matthew Stafford’s 317 passing yards were the second-most of any player in Week 1. Pass defense was a problem for Detroit a year ago, as it ranked just 27th in that regard, and that deficiency continues.

Meanwhile, the Bucs are coming off their second-largest Week 1 win in franchise history, beating Washington by 17 points. Tampa also comes into this Week 2 game with impressive spread runs dating back to last season. They’ve covered the points in six of their last seven regular-season games, and the Bucs have also covered the points in eight of nine regular-season road games since the start of 2023. The Bucs have won three straight road games while covering each of them, too. Tampa is expected to cover nearly 60% of the time, and the model also says the under hits in nearly 60% of simulations.
