After yesterday’s event, selected press representatives were able to take a look at the new iPhones.

In keeping with tradition, they also pointed their cameras at the camera and shot the first “hands-on videos”. We have included a selection below for you to click through.

Tech experts excited about the camera button

In addition, some renowned technology journalists share their first opinions on the smartphones, including Jason Snell on Six Colors:

The taste itself feels really good. It’s a real taste – if you press it all the way down you feel a nice tactile response. But it’s also a touch and pressure sensitive button that you can “half-press” to bring up more options, like zooming in or switching between photographic styles. If you keep your finger on the button and half-press twice in quick succession, you’ll go up a level in the hierarchy and be able to switch to different commands. Then half-press once to bring up the controls you want and switch again. It takes a few minutes to get used to the correct gestures, but it’s a potentially powerful feature.

Nilay Patel from The Verge is also convinced:

The physical button itself is highly sensitive, so a light press brings up the swipe-to-zoom control, and a light double press brings up additional controls you can swipe between, like lens selection, exposure, and the new Photo Styles available on the Pro. It takes me a second to figure out how hard to press, but it wasn’t difficult to figure out. Apple says the button will get a two-stage shutter function as part of a software update later this year, allowing you to lock focus and exposure.

The first comprehensive tests of the iPhones should follow at the end of this week or the beginning of next week. We will of course also do a small press review to help you with a potential purchase decision.

But first, here are the hands-on videos:
