Luxembourg: “Clean Up Day” in the Mullerthal region – cleaning up nature together

On Saturday, September 21, the tourist association of the Mullerthal region – Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland – is inviting people to the “Clean Up Day Mëllerdall” for the fifth time. The region is once again joining the worldwide movement of the “World Clean Up Day”, which will begin globally the day before, on September 20. The region’s tourist office announced this in a press release.

This campaign allows hiking groups to collect rubbish on the region’s hiking trails and thus contribute to protecting the environment. According to the announcement, 19.1 million people from 211 countries worldwide are taking part in this event, and 219,000 tons of rubbish have already been collected.

Those interested can register with the tourist office by email or telephone (+352 72 04 57-1). The appropriate hiking route will be selected together based on length and condition. Pliers and collection bags will be provided, and gloves can be brought along if required. The collected rubbish can be handed over to the collection points distributed throughout the region.

Participants also have the chance to win prizes. Anyone who posts a photo of themselves or their group with the filled garbage bag on Instagram or Facebook and tags @visitmullerthal automatically takes part in the competition.
