Amazon Music: Download purchased music – here’s how

HOW DO I USE THE FEATURES OF MUSIC STREAMING SERVICES?

As an Amazon Music user, you can download music you have already purchased. This works on both your smartphone and your PC, but there is a difference.

Even before Amazon Music became the music streaming service we know today, you could already download songs and albums through Amazon. You can still do that today, even without an Amazon Music subscription. If you do have one, however, you can also download the music you have purchased for offline playback in the app.

Differences between smartphone and desktop PC

While you can download music on both your smartphone and your PC, there is a difference in terms of the music you purchase: On your desktop PC, the files are saved on your computer and can be found in an appropriately named folder under “Music.”

On your smartphone, however, things are different. Any music, whether you’ve already purchased it or not, is only downloaded for offline playback in the Amazon Music app. This means that the Amazon Music app downloads and manages the file so you can access it even when you’re offline.

As a Windows user, your music is usually located in the following file path: “Local Disk (C)” → “Users” → “(Your account name)” → “Music” → “Amazon Music”. However, the download folder can be changed at any time in the Amazon Music settings under “Storage Location”.
