New display sizes

For the first time since the introduction of the iPhone 12, Apple is increasing the display diagonals. They have grown from 6.1 to 6.3 inches (15 to 16 centimeters) on the iPhone 16 Pro and from 6.7 to 6.9 inches (17 to 18 centimeters) on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The good news: the larger displays have apparently not led to an increase in the case dimensions. Apple has been able to reduce the screen bezels again. The Dynamic Island has been retained, as with the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.

Improved cameras

The cameras are always a particular focus on Apple phones, especially on the Pro models. In the past, Pro and Pro Max models often replaced each other in terms of camera performance. That’s over – the camera performance of the iPhone 16 Pro is identical to that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Both Apple innovations offer a five-fold optical zoom and a 48-megapixel sensor. Videos can be saved in 4K and at 120 frames per second (fps) if desired. The iPhones cannot record in 8K, however, which is something that can be tolerated as things stand.

This new button on the side of the Pro models’ housing should be extremely practical for many users in everyday life. Like the iPhone 16, the two Pro variants also have a dedicated camera button (capture button). The button responds to both light touch (focusing) and more pressure (taking a photo). The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max can be pre-ordered from September 13th and will be available in stores from September 20th. The iPhone 16 Pro costs at least 1,199 euros.
