Red Bluff police investigate suspicious object – Red Bluff Daily News

RED BLUFF – Red Bluff Police are asking the public for help in investigating a suspicious object discovered at Circle K Friday afternoon.

RBPD said the Shasta County Bomb Team responded and safely contained the device. The device was transported to Red Bluff Airport, x-rayed and further examined. It appeared to be a home-use explosive device, similar to a pipe bomb.

According to police, the explosives expert used a water jet to destroy the explosive charge and render it harmless.

Police have released surveillance video from the area around Circle K, which is currently being reviewed to identify the person who placed the device.

“Anyone who believes they have information regarding this incident should contact Red Bluff Police,” they added.

Police would like to remind citizens that they must not touch or tamper with any suspicious packages or devices they observe and must instead report it to the authorities.
