A38 reopened in the evening

After a ten-day closure, the Autobahn 38 near Weißenfels has been reopened in the direction of Göttingen. The closure between the Rippachtal motorway triangle and the Leuna junction was lifted in the evening. However, small jobs will be carried out at short notice in the form of day-time construction sites if necessary, as the Federal Autobahn GmbH announced.

Ten days ago, a truck drove into the end of a traffic jam on the Saale bridge. A truck loaded with gas bottles is parked there near the village of Schkortleben. The truck caught fire, several gas bottles exploded and were thrown onto adjacent fields. More than 100 firefighters were deployed. The long fire caused the asphalt to melt regularly and it had to be milled off and reapplied using heavy machinery.
