Handball – Hypo starts the championship with a goal festival

Hypo NÖ – Union St. Pölten 38:21. After winning the Supercup, the first of three titles targeted this season, Hypo Niederösterreich aimed for the 47th championship title in the club’s history in the WHA Master League. The Maria Enzersdorf team has taken a small first step: they celebrated a clear 38:21 home victory against Union St. Pölten.

The St. Pölten team dominated the opening phase. It was not until the 21st minute that Hypo turned the game around and celebrated victory, thanks in particular to a strong second half. Despite the successful start, Hypo coach Ferenc Kovacs urged caution due to the weak opening phase: “Anyone can beat anyone in this league.”

Team captain Mirela Dedic draws a positive conclusion: “We are not yet fully in sync. We had a lot of departures last season and gained a few new players. However, I think we can be completely satisfied with our performance to begin with!”
