Iserlohn: 30-year-old was the victim of a sexual crime – State security investigates

A sexual crime has occurred in Iserlohn in the Sauerland region, and the police have not ruled out a political background. At around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, witnesses are said to have heard screams coming from a building, police and the public prosecutor’s office reported. Officers found an injured 30-year-old there.

With the help of a police helicopter, four suspects aged 24, 34, 42 and 46 were tracked down and arrested in an adjacent forest. The 30-year-old was taken to hospital. Since a political background cannot be ruled out, state security has taken over the investigation. The authorities have not disclosed what the political background is, however.

The police did not confirm media reports that a gang rape had taken place in a former brewery building. They also did not confirm any information from the “Bild” newspaperthat the victim was a refugee from Iran. According to information from Bild, the police found the man in the ruins. The newspaper also reported on two other suspected accomplices who are said to have escaped and who are still being sought.
