Düsseldorf Firecats win the Regionalliga West Finals

With a confident and strong team performance, the Firecats were able to win the championship of the Regionalliga West in Bedburg. Head coach Darius Schmitz’s team prevailed in the preliminary round against the second team of the Münster Blackhawks (13:60), the Wesel Jesters (44:13 and the hosts, the Bedburg Raccoons (28:06) and warmed up properly before taking on the hosts. In the semi-final against the Castrop Raptors, the Firecats won 14:40 and so they faced an old acquaintance, the Bedburg Raccoons, in the final. They got off to a bit of a slow start and quickly fell behind 14:00 before the fire was reignited. With a fantastic team performance, the deficit was quickly made up and in the end the Düsseldorf Firecats players cheered when the final score was 20:33.

Now it’s time to analyze the games and prepare for the relegation to the DFFL2 West. This tournament will take place on September 28, 2024 in Düsseldorf, Arena Sportpark.

For the first time, the relegation tournament for the DFFL1 will be held here at the same time. We will present you all the information about this here in the next few days.
