Darts: Sunday afternoon schedule at the Flanders Darts Trophy 2024 with Gabriel Clemens and Ricardo Pietreczko

Darts: Sunday afternoon schedule at the Flanders Darts Trophy 2024 with Gabriel Clemens and Ricardo Pietreczko

The 16 remaining players will continue to fight for the title at the PDC Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp on Sunday.

With Gabriel Clemens and Ricardo Pietreczko, two German players are also in the race for the tenth European Tour trophy of the season. An eventful final day begins on Sunday afternoon with the round of 16, before the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final take place in the evening.

The final day begins with an English match between Josh Rock and Chris Dobey. Both players were responsible for the elimination of a Dutchman in their official match. Rock won his opening match 6-0 against Jitse van der Wal, while Dobey was too strong against Kevin Doets with 6-2.

Gabriel Clemens will face an Englishman after his sensational victory against Michael van Gerwen. Dave Chisnall will be the German Giant’s next opponent after Chizzy triumphed against James Wade (6-2).

Ricardo Pietreczko also has to face a top Dutch player. Danny Noppert advanced to the next round at the expense of Raymond van Barneveld (6-2) and will now face Pikachu, who was too strong for Andrew Gilding (6-5).

Gian van Veen is the first Dutchman in action on Sunday afternoon. After his 6-3 victory over Robert Owen, he will face Luke Woodhouse. The Shed recorded a surprise victory against Gerwyn Price (6-5).

Peter Wright and Stephen Bunting face off for the second week in a row on the Euro Tour. Last week Wright prevailed 6-5 to finally take the title. Snakebite won his official match against Martin Schindler 6-2 and Bunting eliminated Scott Williams 6-3.

Dirk van Duijvenbode has already won two matches, beating Jonny Clayton (6-2) and Damon Heta (6-5), which means he can now face Luke Littler. The Nuke was unleashed on Saturday night against Jermaine Wattimena, winning 6-1 thanks to a 111 average.

Ross Smith and Ryan Searle are also fighting for a place in the quarter-finals of the European Tour tournament in Antwerp. Searle beat Joe Cullen (6-4), while Smith came from 0-4 down to win 6-5 against Mike de Decker.

The last match of the afternoon will be between reigning world champion Luke Humphries and Ryan Joyce. Humphries started the tournament solidly with a 6-3 win over Ritchie Edhouse, while Joyce won against Alan Soutar (6-5).

TV broadcast

The Flanders Darts Trophy will be broadcast live on TV on Sport1 and of course on DAZN. As is usual with European Tour tournaments, the Flanders Darts Trophy consists of three tournament days. The afternoon sessions start at 1:00 p.m. every day, while the evening sessions start at 7:00 p.m. DAZN will broadcast the entire tournament, while Sport1 will cut back on Sunday afternoon. Then the Flanders Darts Trophy will only be broadcast from 2:00 p.m.

The first round will be played on Friday. Then the 16 qualifiers from the Order of Merit and the winners of the various qualifying tournaments will compete. The best 16 seeded players will enter the tournament in the second round on Saturday. The climax of the tournament follows on Sunday with the third round, which will be played in the afternoon. The quarterfinals, semifinals and final will take place on Sunday evening.

Distribution of prize money

This European Tour tournament will see prize money totaling £175,000 distributed among the 48 participants. They will receive at least £1,250 as an entry fee. The top 16 seeded players who will advance to the Flanders Darts Trophy from the second round onwards will receive £2,500 anyway.

They – like the 16 Order of Merit qualifiers who start in the first round – must win their first match for the prize money to be assessed for the world rankings and the other rankings. The winner of the 2024 Flanders Darts Trophy will ultimately walk away with the top prize of £30,000.
