NFL boss announces awesome plan! German fans listen immediately

The fans’ long wait is over, the NFL is back. On Friday morning (September 6th), the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, opened the new season with a 27:20 win against the Baltimore Ravens. On Saturday morning, the Philadelphia Eagles followed up with a win against the Green Bay Packers (34:29).

The game between the Eagles and the Packers was a very special one from the NFL’s point of view: It was the first party to be held in Brazil. After London, Munich and Frankfurt, it was now Sao Paulo’s turn – but it will definitely not be limited to these four venues.

NFL plans further foreign parties

The NFL and the interest in the football league is growing and growing and growing. The hype surrounding the traditional American sport has been in Germany for years. It is no coincidence that two NFL league games are played in Germany every season.

But even outside of England, Germany and Brazil, the hype around the NFL is getting bigger and bigger. Goodell also notices this and wants to continue to expand, as he explained during the Brazil game. “We feel like this game is destined to go global.” We expect to be in Asia soon. “We expect to be in Australia soon,” Goodell made clear.

“We will make sure that our game is available around the world,” added the 65-year-old. These words are a clear indication that the NFL will also play on other continents. But Goodell also leaves the door open for more games in Germany.

Next foreign station in China?

“We will have at least eight games a year. And when we get to 18 (regular season games, ed.) and two (preseason games, ed.), we will probably see even more international games. “I hope that one day we will have 16 games abroad,” said Goodell. In the current season there are four games – two in London and two in Munich.
