Ukraine warns of Iranian missiles for Russia

Ukraine has urged Iran not to supply Russia with ballistic missiles for its war of aggression under any circumstances. If international media reports confirm that Iran is providing Russia with these missiles for attacks on Ukraine, this will have serious consequences for bilateral relations between Kyiv and Tehran, the Foreign Ministry said. According to the rules of the United Nations and international law, Russia is an aggressor state.

Nevertheless, there are concerns that Tehran and Moscow are deepening their military cooperation and thus threatening the security not only of Ukraine, but of all of Europe, the surrounding areas and the world, the Foreign Ministry in Kiev said. The Iranian leadership must convince through actions that they are not supporting Russia’s war machine, it said. Kiev has long accused Tehran of supporting Moscow’s war – at the beginning especially by providing Iranian drones and plans to build unmanned aerial vehicles.

The international community must heed the pressure on Tehran and Moscow to protect international peace and security, said the Foreign Ministry in Kiev in a statement. The population of Europe has been suffering for more than two years in the war of aggression from daily Russian terrorist attacks using all kinds of weapons, including those made in Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran denied a report in the US newspaper “Wall Street Journal” about the delivery of ballistic missiles to Russia. “Iran considers the delivery of military aid to warring parties to be inhumane and will therefore not take any action,” Tehran’s UN mission in New York announced in a press release. Such cooperation would also weaken the peace process and lead to a further escalation of the conflict. Tehran does not want this either, the press release said, according to the news portal Mashregh.
