Born in 1924: Dorrit Halverscheidt grew up in Berlin. Then she came to Böblingen. Here she worked in her father’s fuel business from an early age, started a family and made tennis a big deal. A visit to a woman who had a lot to tell.

Dorrit Halverscheidt was happy to give us a glimpse into her colorful garden. As soon as she arrived on the terrace, she inspected a green plant that snakes along the wall. “New flowers come out every day,” says the Böblingen resident, who has lived in the large house for almost six decades.
