Gardaí investigate drone hazard incident during major event at Aviva Stadium

Gardaí have seized a “significant number of electronic devices” during their investigation into a security incident at Aviva Stadium last month.

The incident was a drone incursion during the Aer Lingus College Football Classic game between Georgia Tech and Florida State University on August 24th.

The drone was recovered and confiscated by the Gardaí investigating authority on the same day.

As part of the investigation, Gardaí from the DMR South Central Detective Units, with assistance from the Garda National Cyber ​​Crime Bureau, conducted a search of a house in the Dublin area on the morning of Saturday 7 September, seizing a significant number of electronic devices.

A Garda spokesman said investigations were ongoing and asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Irishtown Garda Station on 01 666 9600, the Garda Confidential Hotline on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
