Davante Adams refutes claims he is unhappy in Vegas

Here we go again. The rumors that Davante Adams is not happy with the Raiders are on the rise again. Last April, rumors surfaced that he wanted to leave Vegas, presumably to be traded after the league year began in March. He responded to that rumor with the simple words: “If I wanted to be gone, I would be gone.”

Now less than five months have passed and the rumor mill is churning again. This time thanks to DeSean Jackson, who appeared on The Herd and said Adams told him he wasn’t happy.

“Davante and I talked about it,” Jackson said. “I hate to do it because I don’t want to be the guy that says, ‘DJax says this and said that,’ but at the end of the day he’s unhappy. I mean, you go from Aaron Rodgers to the Las Vegas Raiders. You didn’t just have Jimmy G and his boy Carr, and it didn’t really work out.”

That was two weeks ago, and Adams held it back because he didn’t want to make more of a fuss than it already was. But when asked about the comments on Wednesday, he didn’t hold back in his response.

“Whatever has been floating around lately is complete nonsense,” Adams said of the rumors that he was unhappy. “I have never spoken to Desean Jackson about anything… Saying that I’m upset or unhappy with this organization is just nonsense designed to confuse everyone and get clickbait.”

According to DeSean Jackson, he got much of his opinion on Davante’s situation from the Netflix series “Receiver,” which shows how Adams was frustrated last season due to his offensive struggles in the early part of the season and because he didn’t get the ball often enough.

This has naturally led some people to wonder if Adams wants to stick around for the rebuild. After failing to get a franchise quarterback in the draft and Davante struggling with his old QB Aaron Rodgers in the offseason, this could lead to some speculation. But speculation and claiming to have actually spoken to someone about it are two different things.

In the end, Adams just repeated what he had already said in April.

“Everyone wants to see what Davante Adams has to say, and he’s mad in Vegas,” he added. “If I was mad, I wouldn’t be here right now.”
