Dogs Day in Loop5 with dog trainers, influencers and many clubs or would you rather go to the Open Monument Day? This weekend, September 7th/8th, there will be no boredom in and around Darmstadt.

Demo in Darmstadt The Darmstadt Alliance for Ukraine is calling for a demonstration against Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine on Saturday, September 7. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Luisenplatz.

Lecture on climate On Sunday, September 8, philosopher Wolfgang Reinert will give his last lecture in his series on the climate crisis and its ethical challenges. The title is “Perspectives: A new approach to nature.” The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Literaturhaus Darmstadt, Kasinostraße 3.

Dogs in Loop5 On Saturday, September 7th, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., everything will revolve around dogs at the “Dog Day” in Weiterstadt’s Loop5 shopping center. The guest will be dog trainer Katharina Marioth, who will present her new book and answer questions. There will be a program for dogs and their owners, including tours of clubs and initiatives, workshops and activities.

Open Monument Day Numerous churches are also taking part in the Open Monument Day on Sunday, September 8th, and are offering a program. In Darmstadt, the city church is offering a guided tour after the service at 10 a.m. The church, tower and crypt are open until 4 p.m. All dates: tag-des-offenen-denkmals.de

Steam train to Griesheim The Fiery Elias, Germany’s only steam tram, will travel the historic route between Darmstadt city centre and the carriage hall in Griesheim on the next four Sundays (8th, 15th, 22nd, 28th and 29th September). Departure times at: https://bahnwelt.de/

Local shopping 30 communities with over 800 shops, restaurants and service providers are promoting the local shopping experience with promotions on the weekend of September 7th and 8th. Sunday shopping will take place in Darmstadt, Kranichstein, Arheilgen, Groß-Umstadt, Münster, Rüsselsheim and Bischofsheim, among others. cka
