Flood warning monitoring in coastal areas of southeast Texas

HOUSTON – We are tracking isolated showers and storms across Southeast Texas.

A flood warning remains in effect for all of our coastal counties until Friday morning. We also expect more widespread storms to move inland for most of Thursday. The front arrives late Friday evening and moves away for a perfect fall weekend!

The rain is coming from a low pressure system in the Gulf. As this low pressure system moves north, Houston will see more rain.

Additionally, the National Weather Center is currently monitoring a region off the coast of Texas that has a 10% chance of new snow over the next two days.

This is the same low pressure system that has been bringing showers and storms for the past week. This system will continue to bring the threat of heavy rain and flooding to our coastal areas.
