Bundesliga club TSV Hartberg presented a second new signing on deadline day after signing Björn Hardley: Furkan Demir has moved to the Styrian club. The 19-year-old Austrian-Turk comes to the bottom of the table on loan from league rival SK Rapid, and has been playing for the Hütteldorfer’s reserves since 2022. In the current season, the right-back made two second division appearances, and his contract in Vienna runs until 2026.

The brother of ÖFB international Yusuf Demir is already the record champions’ second loan player to the East Styrian club after attacker Aaron Sky Schwarz.

Rapids sports director Markus Katzer said of the departure: “Furkan Demir is on a very good path and has also made a positive impression in the first team’s preparations. I am very pleased that we have managed to give him the chance to gain match practice in the highest level of performance. Many young footballers have been able to develop well at TSV Hartberg in recent years and I hope that “Furki” will return to Hütteldorf even stronger next summer.”
