Start of the series “The Perfect Couple” on Netflix

Today, Thursday, September 5th, the series The Perfect Couple celebrates its worldwide premiere on the streaming service Netflix.

What is the series “The Perfect Couple” aka “A New Summer” about?

The US series is about Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson; Bad Sisters, The Knick), who is about to marry into one of Nantucket’s richest families. Her future mother-in-law, whom she dislikes, is famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman). She has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the first wedding on the Massachusetts island, until a body turns up on the beach… As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels like it’s taken from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. And suddenly everyone is a suspect. What did it do?

Also in the ensemble of the six-part series are Omar Epps (House), Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type, The White Lotus), Dakota Fanning (The Alienist) and Jack Reynor (The Peripheral). Jenna Lamia (Good Girls, Resident Alien) will serve as showrunner, while Danish Emmy award winner Susanne Bier (The Night Manager) will direct.
