Videos show man attacking a gully by an asylum seeker (30) on a tobacco shop

For days, a stateless man born in Syria, who is housed in an asylum in Bergheim near Salzburg, besieged and plundered a tobacconist’s. Videos now show how the man carried out his brutal coups – with a drain grate!

Salzburg. As oe24 reported, tobacconist Angelika S. from Bergheim is at her wits’ end – since the middle of the week, a 30-year-old asylum seeker has shown up in her shop for the first time and she just couldn’t get rid of the serial offender: First, the Syrian came as a customer and vape enthusiast, without paying for the smoking and electronic goods; later as a burglar who smashed the shop’s display window and the drinks and cigarette machine in front of it with brute force.

The suspect – who was arrested twice but released by the judiciary before finally being taken into custody on Sunday evening (when the Syrian also brutally broke into a CBD vending machine) – used a cast-iron drain grate as a battering ram weapon, which he lifted up from a street drain right in front of the traffic and threw against the glass like a discus.

The high level of responsibility of the stateless asylum seeker: He was virtually forced into the raids due to his strong nicotine addiction.

Tobacconist Angelika S. is outraged and frustrated: “What has to happen before these people are stopped? I’m really scared to go to work, my employees will also quit because they’re scared.”

Now increased controls around the federal asylum home

The police tried to reassure people via ORF: The police take such incidents seriously and appeal to the tobacconist and other people who may be affected to always call the emergency services immediately. The police also stressed that they are now patrolling the area around the asylum accommodation more closely.
