In the 3rd division, transfers could still be bought until September 2nd. Hansa Rostock took advantage of the deadline and signed Sigurd Haugen from Danish first division club Aarhus GF. The 27-year-old striker will join the relegated second division team on loan until the end of the season and is expected to strengthen the team after a poor start to the season with two points from four games. With a market value of 700,000 euros, Haugen is the second most valuable player in the squad after Nils Fröling.

Aarhus loaned Haugen to NAC Breda last season, where he scored six goals in 27 matches in the regular season in the Dutch second division. He scored four goals in six matches in the promotion play-off and was one of the heroes of the team’s return to the Eredivisie. He played three times for Aarhus this season before his loan.

“We are delighted that shortly before the end of the transfer window we were able to acquire an internationally experienced striker in Sigurd Haugen who is at his best age for football.” “Sigurd signalled his interest in moving to Rostock very early on and has not let himself be dissuaded from this wish despite several offers in recent days,” said Hansa’s director of professional football Amir Shapourzadeh. Haugen is the 16th new signing that the third division club has presented this summer.
