Samsung Galaxy S25 series gets Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, foldable devices get Exynos

With only 5 months left for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series to launch, leaks have already made their way online. Over the months, there have been speculations that Samsung will use Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. Previously, we came across rumors that the Galaxy S25 Ultra might come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, while the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus might come with the Exynos 2500 chipset. Now, a new report once again sheds light on what Samsung is planning for next year.

Processor expectations for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series

According to the Hankyung Korea Market report, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 application processors (AP). As for the Galaxy S24 series, we saw the Ultra variant with a Snapdragon processor while the standard model was powered by Exynos 2400 processors in several regions. Now, Samsung plans to integrate the most powerful chipset in its S-series smartphone to deliver powerful performance and AI features that will compete with other tech giants like Apple.

Now, what about the Exynos 2500 chipsets? The report highlighted that Samsung is planning to integrate its own chipset for foldable smartphones. Therefore, with the new generation of Samsung foldable devices, we could see smartphones with Exynos chipset, which would be a big change for the company. It is reported that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 application processors could significantly increase core performance and improve the adoption of generative AI features.
