Mysterious disappearance of Marine Bailey Cameron, stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, from a bar

  • His parents found his things the next day on the curb about a block away

A US Marine stationed at a base in California has mysteriously disappeared.

LCpl Bailey Cameron, 23, was reported missing to Camp Pendleton officials on August 25, hours after he was seen in civilian clothes leaving the Coyote Bar & Grill in Carlsbad around 1:30 a.m.

His parents said they found his phone, glasses and backpack on the curb outside Vigalucci’s, an Italian restaurant about a block away, the next morning. Cameron, however, was nowhere to be seen, according to KGTV.

Cameron’s father now believes he was later seen at another store in the area wearing the same clothes he was wearing when he disappeared.

“We have a photo of him after he disappeared, but there was no contact, no communication with friends or family,” Kevin Cameron told the local news station as he handed out flyers with his son’s photo on Friday.

“We don’t know if he’s under pressure,” added the worried father. “We don’t know if he’s 100 percent well again or not.”

He admitted that he did not behave normally that evening, “and that is what worries his friends and family.”

“As a father, it’s hard to think of hundreds of possible scenarios,” Kevin said.

“As a father, I don’t care about the situation… I just need him back.”

In an update on his Facebook profile on Monday, Kevin said he and his wife are now “very concerned about the well-being of our son and rely heavily on the professionals who are supporting us.”
