6-derby defeat against SV Thenried

6-derby defeat against SV Thenried

Right at the start of the season, the Wiltinger girls will face the district derby against SV Thenried with coach Lukas Riedl in the regional league group south. Host coach Irek Kotula would have been happy with a draw before the game, but at the end of the 90 minutes they suffered a sobering 1:6 defeat.

The Wilting team started nervously. After five minutes, Kristin Senft’s shot hit the crossbar, but the referee had previously ruled it a foul. After seven minutes, Jessica Köppl was allowed to run free through the midfield, only to be stopped with a foul just outside the penalty area. Kristin Senft lifted the free kick from 20 meters over the wall and into the net to make it 0-1. SV Wilting needed a quarter of an hour to recover from the early shock. They then dominated the game and had more possession, but were unable to seriously threaten the Thenried goal. SV Thenried was also no longer a threat in front of the Wilting goal until half-time. In the second half, things then happened in quick succession. Only two minutes had been played when Kristin Senft was faster than the SVW defenders after a long pass from Lisa Beer and slotted in to make it 2-0. A little later, Lilli Beier, who had advanced, headed the ball unchallenged next to the Thenried goal after a corner. In return, Jessica Köppl made her way down the wing and Kristin Senft buried her cross. After an hour, the score was 4-0 when Lisa Beer headed a cross against the direction of goalkeeper Viola Pfeifer. The Thenried team took advantage of SVW’s confusion and uncertainty and increased the score to 5-0 five minutes later through Lucca Stadler. Just ten minutes later, Lisa Beer increased the score to 6-0 with her second goal. In the 79th minute, Wilting scored a consolation goal. Johanna Held headed in a corner from Christina Schmid to make the final score 6-1. Wilting’s coach Irek Kotula saw his team as having deserved a defeat, which was a little too high for his liking due to the Thenried team’s good use of opportunities.
