FELDKIRCH (VLBG): The 14th Federal Fire Brigade Competition in Feldkirch has come to an end. 384 groups from Austria and 28 guest groups from Germany, France, Italy (South Tyrol), Liechtenstein, Slovenia and Switzerland are fighting for the national victory.

The group from the volunteer fire brigade Bad Mühllacken 1 (Upper Austria) won the men’s race with an incredible flawless run of 27.88 seconds and 48.50 seconds in the relay race. The women’s race also went to Upper Austria: Unterstetten 2 ran flawlessly to victory with 38.64 seconds in the fire attack and 62.69 in the relay race.

Styria took part in 56 rounds in various disciplines and categories. The groups came from 34 fire departments, and 26 Styrian judges were sent to the national competition in Styria under the leadership of the state competition manager and deputy state fire brigade commander LBDS Christian Leitgeb.

The Styrian field of participants achieved three top ten places across the rating classes, two top 15 places and one place in the top 25 in the supreme discipline of “Bronze A” in the men’s ranking. Nevertheless: Once again, the states of Upper and Lower Austria were the “measure of all things”. Another event highlight this weekend was the 2nd VLV BUNDES FIRE CUP, which was held on Saturday evening, immediately after the national competition. The FF Pischelsdorf achieved an excellent third place in the Bronze B rating class.
