One Euclid teenager dead, four others injured after shootings

A Euclid teenager is dead and four others are injured but expected to survive after being shot on the evening of August 30.

All five victims were male and between the ages of 16 and 17. They were taken to area hospitals, Euclid police said in an Aug. 31 news release. The deceased victim was 17 years old.

The shooting occurred at 10:15 p.m. on Nicholas Avenue near East 222nd Street. The Euclid High School football game had ended an hour earlier, and the Police Department said officers were busy doing crowd control after the game at the time of the shooting.

The department said a police investigation was ongoing but no arrests had been made at the time of the press release. It added that the shooting was not random and there was no danger to the public.

The police department asks anyone with information to contact the Euclid Police Detective Bureau at 216-289-8505.
