The Central Bureau of Investigation has completed its investigation into the case of alleged leak of examination question paper for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and filed the final supplementary chargesheet against one of the accused.

The agency said the accused, Pasang Kotin Ezing, had issued a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to a middleman in the name of her son Loth Ezing (candidate) for the leaked questions of AE (Civil) Examination 2022. The middleman and the candidate were named in the first chargesheet dated December 8, 2022, along with six others, including a teacher of a private coaching institute and the then deputy secretary and deputy controller of examinations of APPSC.

Further investigations have been conducted to look into the other aspects of the case. “Accordingly, on 31st January 2023 and 30th March 2023, the first and second supplementary charge sheets were filed against a private individual and the then Deputy Controller of Examinations, APPSC and a private individual respectively.

“During the investigation, it was also revealed that the then Deputy Controller of Examinations, APPSC, in collusion with the middleman and others, had leaked the questions for AE (Civil) Examination 2022 to various candidates in lieu of a large sum of money,” the agency said.

The CBI had registered the case and started investigation against the teacher and unidentified officials of the APPSC on October 26, 2022, after the Government of Arunachal Pradesh filed a report through the Department of Personnel and Training. The other persons named in the previous chargesheets are Akhilesh Yadav, Taket Jerang, Tama Saroh, Tomas Gaduk, Tanyang Gaduk, Binam Jomang and Talung Jomang.
