For some wrestling fans, star ratings are a way of life. It’s one thing to say whether a match is good or bad, but can you actually express that in numbers?

The star rating system is a scale of 0 to 5 with increments of 0.25. A match with five stars is as perfect as it gets, while a match with zero stars is a complete failure.

Determining the star rating for a particular fight is a highly subjective process. Generally, the goal is to summarize all of the important elements of a fight into a simple number. Factors to consider may include the story and booking of the fight, the work rate of the performers, ring psychology, the length of the fight, the reaction of the crowd, etc.

The purpose of the Cageside Community Star Ratings is for readers to assign star ratings to each individual match of a given AEW pay-per-view event. There is no wrong answer, as every wrestling fan consumes this art form in a different way.
