ABC News rejects Harris campaign’s demand for unmuted microphones

ABC News has reportedly received a request from Kamala Harris Campaign not to mute the microphones during the entire debate on 10 September with Donald Trump.

Trump’s campaign accepted the rules, but the Harris campaign has not released a statement on the matter. According to Darcy, ABC News has instructed journalists not to report on Trump’s acceptance of the debate terms on Truth Social.

Trump’s campaign has insisted for weeks that the debate, which will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, will follow the same rules as the previous debate with Biden. The president withdrew from the race shortly after the debate due to a poor performance and pressure from members of his own party.

The Harris team had already called earlier this week for the microphones of both candidates to not be muted during the entire debate.
