Florida Gators men’s tennis team releases schedule for fall 2024

The Florida Gators men’s tennis team looks to rebound from last year’s 13-12 record with a tough schedule. UF returns to the court at the Bama Invite in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 13-15.

The Gators will also compete in the Fayetteville 25K Futures Sept. 16-22 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships Sept. 21-29 in Tulsa, the Big 12/SEC Challenge Oct. 4-6 in Waco, Texas, the ITA Regional Championships Oct. 10-15 in Lake Nona, Florida, and the Normal 25K Futures Oct. 21-27 in Norman, Oklahoma.

Florida will host the Bedford Cup from October 25-27. The Gators will then head to their final four tournaments of the season. Florida will play at the Sectionals in Tallahassee from November 7-10, the Bonita Bay Classic in Naples, Florida from November 8-10, the Columbus 25K Futures in Columbus, Ohio from November 11-17 and the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships in Waco from November 19-24.

In head coach Adam Steinberg’s second season, the Gators return six players from last year’s roster. Steinberg continued the program’s streak of 32 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances in his first season.

In singles, sophomore Jeremy Jin is ranked 24th in the ITA preseason poll. Jin reached 57th in the ITA rankings last season after earning five wins in singles. He was also one of three players to earn both All-SEC and All-SEC Freshman Team honors.

As a duo, Jin and junior Tanapatt Nirundorn are ranked 37th. In addition, Nirundron had 17 doubles victories with his former partners, sophomore Adhithya Ganesan, sophomore Kevin Edengren and former Gator Nate Bonetto.

Newcomer Ben Weintraub also made it into the ITA newcomer rankings at number 13. Weintraub has a record of 19-8 in professional matches and a record of 45-39 in matches at the ITF, ATP and Davis Cup levels.
