Fire in Manchester, NH, quickly extinguished, no injuries reported – NBC Boston

Firefighters battled a fire in a building in Manchester, New Hampshire overnight.

Shortly after midnight, the Manchester Fire Department was called to a fire at an apartment on Lake Avenue. When they arrived on the scene, heavy fire had engulfed all three floors, and firefighters were informed that two people may be trapped on the third floor.

The firefighters immediately began to extinguish the fire before it could reach the neighboring building, which was only two meters away. At the same time, they began to search the building for trapped residents and were able to determine that everyone had safely escaped from the building and there was no one there.

At around 1:16 a.m. the fire was declared under control and after extensive renovation work on the building, firefighters were able to clear the scene.

According to the fire department, the damage is estimated at $175,000.
