X is reportedly working on a video conferencing tool. Chris Park, a developer at the company, reported on the development and noted that the company’s first internal conference was held using the tool.

Park claimed the tool was on par with Google Hangouts, Zoom, AWS Chime and Microsoft Teams and said the team was working on adding more features – such as sending notifications when a person leaves or joins the page and creating pins for keynote speakers.

In response to a user tweet about the tool, Musk replied with a fire emoji.

Some app researchers also discovered the feature on X earlier this month under a separate option called “Conference” and published screenshots.

X already has Spaces, its live video streaming platform. A separate video conferencing tool could allow them to merge the two and allow users to switch between them, as is the case with Google Meet and Zoom.
