Fantasy Football 2024 Cheat Sheet Generator: Customizable Rankings and Predictions Tool

Fantasy Football 2024 Cheat Sheet Generator: Customizable Rankings and Predictions Tool

Welcome back (or, nice to meet you, newcomers!) to a tool that will help you win all your fantasy football leagues in 2024: a fully customizable cheat sheet generator that allows you to enter your league rules and settings — and can even change stats and projections. The end result is a set of rankings and projections tailored specifically to your personal fantasy football needs.

All I ask is that you read the instructions.

This is a very deep (and ultimately pretty amazing) tool with a lot of interconnected parts. But once you learn it, it’s amazingly simple (and fun – you can predict Michael Penix to start 17 games and throw for 4,500 yards…if you’re a little crazy). And if you get stuck, I’ll be here in the comments to help you out. Have fun…and good luck!!

If you want the short version, it is this:

To make changes to player stats/predictions, go to the individual team pages. On these pages, scroll to the right to make sure you don’t miss anything (the input fields go all the way to the AH column). only change things in yellowand trust that the tool is always doing its job in the background while you make changes. I also added an Instructions tab to the sheet to keep everything in one place.

A few more quick hits:

QUESTIONS? I’ll be in the comments section, but please quickly scroll through the previous comments or press CTRL-F to see if your issue has already been addressed/answered.

ALSO: The point categories shown are the only ones I’m projecting, so if you have special bonuses or additional categories like first downs, there’s no way to account for those.

The instructions

1. Go to each team tab to make adjustments

In other words, if you want to change Jahmyr Gibbs’ fantasy points, you’ll need to go to the Detroit Lions tab and adjust him there. You cannot enter a new Fantasy Point Total on the Leaderboard tab.. This will cause some confusion later.

2. Scroll further right to see the good stuff

To the right of the team pages are a whole bunch of yellow cells that you might not see unless you scroll to the right, but once you’re there, you’re in for a fun ride.

The way this sheet works, you can’t change Travis Etienne’s Rushing Yards or Rushing Attempts directly in the cells – everything is connected to everything else to make the sorting and ranking work. If you want to change his Rushing Yards instead, you’ll need to tweak a few things in the formula that creates “Rushing Yards” (which is all intuitive and should make sense):

  1. COLUMN V “YD PER CARRY” – adjust if you think Etienne will have a better (or worse) YPC
  2. COLUMN X “TD PER CARRY” – if you think he will score at a higher (or lower) hit rate
  3. COLUMN Z “YD PER RECP” – if you want to optimize his skills as a pass receiver
  4. COLUMN AF “EDIT RUSH SHARE” – to give him more opportunities for the backfield carries. PLEASE NOTE: If you move Etienne up 7%, you will have to move some other players down 7%. Otherwise you will cause “TOT SHR” (Total share) goes over 100% (I made it red so you know) and the calculation will not be done correctly. More on that below.
  5. COLUMN AG and AH to edit Target Share and TD Share. That should make enough sense at this point to move on, right? We’re basically changing numbers in the yellow cells and those then feed into and create/change player projections.

3. Meet “TOT SHR” in column AF – he will be your worst enemy if you don’t set some things right

Look at the red “TOT SHR” box in column AF (bottom right of the page). This number should be under 100 and not red. In the screenshot above, you can see that column W has not adjusted to the new numbers in AF. Once we drop AF below 100%, column W adjusts accordingly and everything is fine (see screenshot below). Basically, you can’t have more than 100% of a team’s rushes (or receptions or whatever stat you’re using at the time). That’s all this does.

4. Adjust pass and rush percentage

Rows 30 and 31 are a lot of fun. Adjusting these numbers will change the positional projections accordingly. However, note that if you assume the Cardinals pass 65% of the time, the rush percentage will automatically drop to 35%. So your RBs, WRs, and QBs will drop accordingly.

5. Ranking tabs

  • POS Ranks: automatic sorting with all changes for new FPS
  • OVR and VORP ranks: automatic sorting by Value over substitutesand ranges from positional (orange) to In total (blue) to combined WR and TE (yellow) for all ranking types
  • Ranks with project: sorts automatically with all changes for new FPS, but also shows the projections for each player
  • Jake’s Ranks: These are MY RANKINGS, which are slightly different than projection-based ranks (I might be more likely to bet on a player being out for the first few weeks than on a player being less productive per game). Auction values are adjusted for my ranks.

Default settings and notes for projections

  • Pass touchdown = 4 points
  • All other TD = 6pt
  • 25 yards passing = 1 point
  • 10 yards rushing/receiving = 1 point
  • Standard sorting = Half-PPR
  • League/Budget = 12 teams/$200
