Guilty Gear Strive Switch Edition appears to have leaked thanks to a banner spotted at PAX West

Guilty Gear Strive looks to be a highly anticipated release for Nintendo Switch, at least according to a giant banner that hung at PAX West in Seattle today.

In a now-deleted tweet posted to X/Twitter yesterday and archived on Reddit, a giant banner above the entrance of a trade show lobby promotes Guilty Gear Strive, featuring a Nintendo Switch logo and the text “Nintendo Switch Edition” and “Pre-order Now” in the left corner with a QR code. While Arc System Works has yet to confirm the veracity of this statement, it’s hard to imagine a giant banner like this appearing outside of a real announcement—with PAX West kicking off on Friday, we’ll likely see it soon.

The banner doesn’t specify a release date, but it’s possible that the Switch version of the game will be demonstrated at the event.

Guilty Gear Strive is a community-favorite fighting game that first launched for PlayStation and PC in 2021, and has since been available in arcades and on PC as well. The original Guilty Gear, released in 1998, has been available for Switch since 2019, but Guilty Gear Xrd never made it to console.

The biggest question now seems to be how well Strive will run on the Switch, given the console’s questionable history when it comes to fighting game ports and the fact that many other fighting games have passed it over entirely. But hopefully Arc System Works has found a way to do Guilty Gear Strive – a game we rated 9/10 upon release – its due justice.
