BLACK OPS 6 beta start date and details announced

During today’s Call of Duty Next Presentation, Activision and developer Treyarch revealed the exact details of the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6The beta for this year’s game will take place over two weekends, and more maps and modes will be introduced over the course of that period.

The BlackOps 6 The beta will launch with Early Access on Friday, August 30th at 10:00 a.m. PT. Anyone who pre-ordered the game on either platform (console or PC) will be able to play the beta during this period. If you pre-ordered digitally, you do not need a beta code. You are automatically registered to participate. This Early Access period ends on Wednesday, September 4th at 10:00 a.m. PT.

Thankfully, there’s not long to wait until the next beta phase. The official open beta, available to everyone regardless of platform or pre-order status, runs from September 6th at 10:00 a.m. PT to September 9th at 12:00 a.m. PT.

Pre-loading is now possible. According to Activision:

Players who have installed Call of Duty and the Season 5.5 update will automatically receive the beta as an update to their existing installation.

New or returning players who do not have Call of Duty installed can join the BlackOps 6 Open the beta by downloading it from your platform’s storefront.

Players can preload BlackOps 6 Beta content begins on August 28th. The fastest way to jump into the beta immediately is to download the Season 5 Reloaded update and pre-download the beta content before August 30th.

Three maps and four modes will be available during the first weekend. An additional three maps and modes will be added throughout the weekend. The maps and modes include:

  • Forfeit (Core Card)
  • Scud (core card)
  • Skyline (core map)
  • Rewind (core card)
  • Pit (Strike Card)
  • Gala (Strike Card)

Playable modes include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Order, Face Off Team Deathmatch, and Face Off Kill Confirmed.

Weekend Two, the official BlackOps 6 The open beta includes all of the content from the first weekend, plus two additional maps – Babylon (core map) and Stakeout (assault map) – as well as the Gunfight and Face Off Kill Order game modes.

Those who participate in the Black Ops 6 beta will not have their progress carried over into the release, but will receive a number of rewards that they can use after the full game is released. Black Ops 6 beta rewards are unlocked when you reach certain levels in the beta:

  • Level 2: Animated Emblem “Beta Tester”
  • Stage 6: Beta Day Spray
  • Level 11: Weapon Spell “No Errors”
  • Level 15: Quick Draw Emote
  • Level 20: “Squish” Westpoint Operator Skin (unlockable only on the first weekend)
  • Level 20: “Squash” Westpoint Operator Skin (unlocked on one of the weekends)
  • Level 23: “The truth lies” loading screen
  • Level 27: Animated business card “Beta Expert”
  • Level 30: “Bug Smasher” weapon blueprint

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 The release is scheduled for October 25, 2024. It is available for Xbox (and Game Pass), PlayStation and PC.
