Leaked set photo from First Steps shows first look at The Thing

During the filming of Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps continues, we can now get our very first look at the brand new design for The Thing. Leaked set photos and videos offer our first look at Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s interpretation of Ben Grimm in his rock form.

The leaks suggest that Marvel will take the practical route, similar to Michael Chiklis’ portrayal in Fox’ Fantastic Four And Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surferalthough at this point it’s unclear if Moss-Bachrach will appear on set in the suit. It’s also worth noting that this could simply be an on-set replacement that will be replaced with a digital version in post-production. However, as you can see for yourself here, Marvel certainly seems to be aiming for a very comic-accurate design that will surely delight fans…

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision) and stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, with Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich in yet-to-be-announced roles.

The release of “Fantastic Four: First Steps” is scheduled for July 25, 2025.
