Nevada State Parks hosts Junior Ranger Day at Washoe Lake

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Nevada State Parks is hosting Regional Junior Days this September at Washoe Lake State Park.

The event will take place on September 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and celebrates the Junior Ranger programs in Northern Nevada.

“Regional Junior Ranger Day is a wonderful opportunity for children and families to get involved with nature and experience the incredible natural landscape that Northern Nevada has to offer,” said Kim Zuch, interpreter at Washoe Lake State Park. “We are excited to continue this tradition and see how much it has grown since it began just a few years ago.”

Activities include nature hikes, outdoor activities, arts and crafts, a special appearance by Smokey Bear and more.

Children will also have the opportunity to earn Junior Ranger badges and certificates through a variety of educational and hands-on activities. The event is free and open to the public. No advance registration is required.
