On Wednesday there will be almost record heat, temperatures will rise to over 35 degrees, on Thursday the rain will return

Today is probably the hottest day of the week with afternoon temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees.

Humidity will also be high, but thankfully not as high as this year. The heat index will still be between 35 and 38 degrees. There will be scattered showers in the afternoon. It looks like the rain will fall north of Lynchburg, but some showers could move south as well.

Lows will be warm for the rest of the week, and tonight is no exception. Expect warm nighttime temperatures that will only drop to around 70 degrees.

From Thursday onwards, the rain may finally pick up again, although the heat and humidity will still be there. Temperatures will be around 35 degrees, and showers or thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon and evening. It looks like most of the day will be dry, with the chance of rain increasing later on.

Friday will bring more rain and probably more of the same humidity. However, it will briefly be cooler with highs in the afternoon between 27 and 30 degrees.

The weekend looks unsettled at the moment and temperatures are likely to become a little more seasonal. Temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees are still expected on Saturday and Sunday.
