Charges filed in Jamestown drug investigation | News, Sports, Jobs

JAMESTOWN – An investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Jamestown ended with a traffic stop and a search warrant.

On August 21, drug agents from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department and Jamestown Police Department executed a search warrant for 340 Baker Street shortly after Jamestown Police Department stopped 48-year-old Dwight Leeper of Jamestown near his residence.

During the search, investigators seized 26.35 grams of cocaine as well as scales and packaging materials used for the sale and distribution of narcotics. Leeper was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Leeper was arraigned on the charges in Jamestown City Court.
