Kurt Geiger announces record sales and appoints Emily Ratajkowski as brand ambassador – Footwear News

There are no summer blues for Kurt Geiger this year as the company announces the sales of its record label and a new brand ambassador.

Kurt Geiger’s annual revenue reached $466 million in the year ending February 2024, up 10 percent from the same period last year. Profits rose 34 percent, exceeding $50 million.

The brand based its success on handbags that were “affordable luxury.”

“We simply stand out from the crowd. Our brand has [a] “Unique design aesthetic – fun, colourful and instantly recognisable. That, combined with a strong British DNA and an incredible value proposition – we filled a white space with bold, maximalist silhouettes at an affordable price,” said Neil Clifford, CEO of Kurt Geiger.

“In 2024, we are expected to exceed all our most ambitious predictions – our global footprint will grow exponentially, driven by handbags – now our largest product category across all markets. Not bad for an independent British brand operating against a fairly difficult economic backdrop,” he added.

Kurt Geiger is now doubling down on its handbag success by naming Emily Ratajkowski the face of its fall 2024 collection, which includes a new range, the Chelsea collection.

Emily Ratajkowski for Kurt Geiger.

The new collection is named after the affluent West London area where the Swinging Sixties began on the King’s Road.

The American model, actor, author and activist is pictured in the campaign with different handbags: a large red tote bag and a hobo-style bag in small and micro sizes.

The brand’s signature eagle symbol has been updated with a crystallized halo buckle that adds a touch of sharpness.

In 2023, the brand’s handbag business generated sales of $143 million.

Kurt Geiger also reported strong growth in the USA over the last five months, with an increase of 104 percent.

The brand has a firm focus on retail, with three new stores set to open in New York, Los Angeles and San Diego in the fall, and 50 stores across the US are planned for the future.
